Swimming in Las Vegas
The four boys representing the Truckee High swim team had a good showing at the Nevada state championship meet in Las Vegas last weekend.
The 200-meter free relay squad of Dan Gelso, Matt Gelso, Teague Mason and Arek O’Connell placed sixth overall in 1:34.62, beating their previous school record by almost two seconds.
The same group also placed seventh in the 400 free relay. Their time of 3:33.13 beat their previous record by three seconds.
All swimmers had personal bests in their relay splits.
Dan Gelso also placed sixth in the 100 breast in 1:03.07 and fifth in the 200 individual medley in 2:04:02.
“Overall it was a great meet and a tremendous season for the boys,” said head coach Carey Parlette.
