Tahoe ballplayer earns academic honor from college conference

Tim Lewis, a Tahoe Vista native and catcher for the Regis University baseball team in Denver, recently received Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic honors.

Lewis and teammate Charlie Henderson were each named to the first team, while a total of 14 Regis University players were honored.

The son of Old Brockway Golf Course owner Lane Lewis, Tim Lewis is batting .333 on the season and is second on the team with a .429 on-base percentage. The junior catcher was an honor roll member this past season and has earned a 3.96 GPA in business.

To qualify for Academic All-RMAC, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.30 or better, be a starter or reserve, and completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their current institution.
