Tahoe athletes were far from intimidated by the elite competition and technical terrain at the IFSA North American Junior Freeride Championships.
On the contrary, more than 50 young skiers and snowboarders from the Tahoe Junior Freeride Series (TJFS) threw down with confidence and expertise in the season-ending event at Whistler Blackcomb, Canada, from April 6-9.
When the final results were tallied, Team Tahoe had earned two overall North American season titles, 12 podium finishes, two Spirit Bird Awards, the Jim Jack Mayor of Freeride Award, and 22 top-10 finishes.
It was a fitting way to end an action-packed winter of competition both locally and abroad. And for many, it was just the start of bigger things to come in the world of big-mountain freeriding.
