Tahoe Twins to host doubleheader against Butte Sabres

The Tahoe Twins will host a doubleheader against the Butte Sabres at their Tahoe Vista ballpark on Saturday at noon and 3 p.m.

The Twins and#8212; a semipro team made up of North Tahoe and Truckee players and#8212; are coming off a pair of losses against the Reno Astros on July 31. Twins manager Bob Habeger said the local club hit the ball well on that day, but the competitive Astros broke through with a couple of big innings to sweep both games.

and#8220;We were hitting the ball well, and we played pretty well overall. But our pitching wasnand#8217;t necessarily as good as it has been,and#8221; Habeger said.



The manager said he will likely start Joe Thomas in Game 1 and Jesse Hildebrandt in Game 2 against the Chico-area Sabres, and#8220;and then go from there.and#8221;

The doubleheader will mark the final home games until the Twins return to North Tahoe Regional Park on Sept. 12, which is fan appreciation day.
