Snowmobiling,

Snowmobiling under the moon, Thursday and Friday. 6:30 p.m., Single rider $69, tandem $89. Reservations required. Call 52-2222.

Cross Country skiing,

Van Norden Meadows

Explore Van Norden Meadow and some of the Royal Gorge trail system on Donner Summit Saturday.Two-hours. Upper-level beginners through intermediate and advanced cross country skiers. 10 a.m. at Summit Station on the Royal Gorge property. All participants must preregister by today. The fee is $30 for Donner Land Trust members and $35 for nonmembers, and includes all-day Royal Gorge trail pass. Limited to 20 participants. Call 582-4711.

Friday, Feb. 9

Seniors ski free,

Tahoe Cross Country Ski Area

Those 70 and over receive a free trail pass, every Friday, meet at the lodge, 10: 30 a.m. Call 583-5475.

With Dr. Tim Schroeder, focus on spinal stretching and strengthening, 5-7 p.m., $10 per person.

Saturday, Feb. 10

Snowshoe tour,

Northstar-at-Tahoe

Moonlight snowshoe tour, 5 p.m. $20 per person. Rental showshoes cost $5. Call 562-2222.

Donner Party Survival,

Donner Memorial State Park

Snowshoe hike revisiting Donner Party site. 10 a.m. at Donner Memorial State Park, Emigrant Trail Museum. Snowshoes only. Call 582-7892.

Avalanche Awareness,

Sugar Pine Point State Park

Covers important aspects of avalanche awareness. Easy 3 miles cross country tour. 10 a.m. at Sugar Pine Point ski trail parking lot near the campground kiosk. Call 525-7232.

Telemark clinics,

Alpine Meadows Ski Area

Two telemarking clinics, Saturday and Sunday. Call (800) 441-4423 or visit http://www.skialpine.com.Each day is $45 and includes full-day instruction and use of demo equipment.

Sunday, Feb. 11

Cross Country tour,

Grover Hot Springs State Park

Cross country ski tour to Meiss Meadows, north of Carson Pass with good views of Lake Tahoe. A Sno-Park permit required. Moderate to difficult, 5 to 6 miles roundtrip. 10 a.m. at the parking lot area, just west of Carson Pass Summit on Highway 88. Call (916) 324-1222. Monday, Feb. 12
