Cross Country skiing,
Van Norden Meadows
Explore Van Norden Meadow and some of the Royal Gorge trail system on Donner Summit Saturday.Two-hours. Upper-level beginners through intermediate and advanced cross country skiers. 10 a.m. at Summit Station on the Royal Gorge property. All participants must preregister by today. The fee is $30 for Donner Land Trust members and $35 for nonmembers, and includes all-day Royal Gorge trail pass. Limited to 20 participants. Call 582-4711.

Seniors ski free,
Tahoe Cross Country Ski Area
Those 70 and over receive a free trail pass, every Friday, meet at the lodge, 10: 30 a.m. Call 583-5475.

Donner Party Survival,

Avalanche Awareness,
Sugar Pine Point State Park
Covers important aspects of avalanche awareness. Easy 3 miles cross country tour. 10 a.m. at Sugar Pine Point ski trail parking lot near the campground kiosk. Call 525-7232.

Sunday, Feb. 11
Cross Country tour,
Grover Hot Springs State Park
Cross country ski tour to Meiss Meadows, north of Carson Pass with good views of Lake Tahoe. A Sno-Park permit required. Moderate to difficult, 5 to 6 miles roundtrip. 10 a.m. at the parking lot area, just west of Carson Pass Summit on Highway 88. Call (916) 324-1222.
