THS Nordic takes second

Behind a strong finish by Brandy Barna, on loan from Far West Skiing, the THS ski team pulled ahead of South Lake Tahoe to take second place behind North Tahoe on Jan. 21 at Heavenly in slalom races. The Wolverines had 297 total points, just four more than South Lake, but 49 behind North Tahoe.

Barna, splitting time between Far West competitions and high school competitions, finished first for the girls’ with a combined time of 1:00.06 from her two runs. Barna beat out second place finisher Kendall Northrop of South Lake Tahoe by 3.69 seconds.

For THS, Jennna Lowrance took sixth at 1:18.17, Adrienne Roegiers was 10th at 1:18.17, Kim Smith was 17th at 1:27.12 and Michelle Smith was 21st at 1:33.46.



On the boys’ side, Josh Benge took eighth at 1:08.34, Patrick Hartman was 12th at 1:16.76, Kiernan Mooney was 19th at 1:24.18, Owen Smith was 22 at 1:27.18 and John Harrigan was 23rd at 1:32.18.
