THS swimming sees mixed results

The THS girls’ swim team hasn’t had much trouble these past couple of weeks in their swim meets while the boys has been struggling.

On March 18, against Spanish Springs, the girls won 182 points to 98 while the boys lost 50 to 71. On March 21 against Wooster, the girls won 154 to 123 while boys lost 84 to 99. Then on Saturday against Sparks, the competition apparently didn’t feel like getting wet, because the girls won 191 to 54 and the boys won 84 to 0.

In addition to the girls being undefeated, they have had several swimmers qualify for the Regional Championships in May. The top four swimmers from Zones go on to compete in the State Championships. The following swimmers have already achieved Zone qualifying times. Senior Lauren Browning, juniors Leslie Ajari, Aaron Browning, John Pittenger, Jon Rogers and Kate Rose, sophomore Kathryn Altieri. Freshmen Joelle Comeaux, Haley Howell, Keema Kelly, Lora Lashbrook, Alex Prodaniuk, Greta Pittenger and Mary Silvas.

Up next is Hug High on Friday at the Incline Village Pool.
