Tough weekend proves costly to girls’ basketball
Some weeks are better than others. The THS girls basketball team had two losses in four days against Bishop Manogue Wednesday, 46-45, and to rival North Tahoe 45-34.
Against North Tahoe, the defensive play of Laker Virginia Munsterman put the clamps down on Truckee. She racked up a triple double, with 15 blocked shots, 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The game turned physical and late in the game, Truckee drew a couple technical fouls and that helped to spur a North Tahoe late game run.
The two losses pushes the Wolverines back to sixth place behind Saturday’s opponent Fernley in fifth and North Tahoe in fourth. Truckee’s at 1-3 (2-6), North Tahoe is 2-1 (3-7) and Fernley stands at 1-3 (7-9).
The Fernley game is Saturday with a 3 p.m. tip off.
