Truckee Alumn up for NCAA honor

This Saturday night, Truckee High School alum Eli Burrill will find out if she is the NCAA’s women athlete of the year.

Burrill graduated in May of 2003 from the United States Air Force Academy with a major in business management and a 3.74 grade-point average.

In athletics, Burrill proved to be a valuable part of the Air Force Academy’s fencing team in women’s epee, and she was recently nominated as Colorado’s choice for women athlete of the year.

Burrill was a member of the U.S. Fencing Team at the World Cup in 2002. She was voted most valuable fencer three times. She was also the Western Regional Champion for women’s epee three times, and a four-time NCAA champions qualifier.

Burrill was also a three-time MVP and Academic all-American, on top of being the team captain from 2001-03.
