Truckee basketball: Boys drop home game to South Tahoe

Truckee is scheduled to play league games at Lowry on Friday and at Fernley next Tuesday, Jan. 12.

The Truckee boys basketball team dropped to 0-4 in the Northern Division I-A after losing to visiting South Tahoe, 87-59, on Tuesday.

The Wolverines matched the Vikings’ 39 points in the second half, but they needed more after falling behind 21-13 at the end of the first quarter and 48-20 by the half.

Senior forward Justin Wadsworth was named Truckee’s Player of the Game with a 12-point performance. Ben Miller scored a team-high 13 points, while Jenner Tresan added 12 points, Kevin Cross had nine and Airon Yarbrough five.

Senior Blake Dorian led the Vikings with 19 points, while Denzel Perez scored 17 and Ethan Strain had 11. South Tahoe is now 3-1 in league play after three consecutive wins.
