Truckee boys soccer cruises to easy win

The Truckee High boys soccer team routed Fernley, 11-0, Saturday at River View Sports Park in Truckee.

The boys were scheduled to play at Pershing County on Thursday in Lovelock, but the game was cancelled because Pershing could not field a team.

The Wolverines are now 7-1 in league and 13-2 overall.

With his team dominating the Northern 3A Sagebrush League opponent from the start, taking a 6-0 lead into the half, Truckee head coach Hernan Valdivia was able to get all his players into the game.

Eight different Wolverines contributed goals: Greg Pearson (2), Emmanuel Sarabia (2), Salvador Tejeda (2), Max Brixey, Hugo Cardenas, Joey Eberhardt, Andy Apolinar and Abel Islas.

Truckee plays at Sparks Tuesday at 4 p.m.
