Truckee boysand#8217; basketball | Wooster earns first win against Wolverines

The Wooster Colts broke into the win column at the visiting Wolverines’ expense with a 63-51 victory on Wednesday.

Truckee is now 8-3 on the year, while the Colts improved to 1-11 with their first win.

After falling behind 18-13 after one quarter of play, the Wolverines stormed back with a 20-point second quarter while holding Wooster to just four to take a 33-22 lead at the half.



But it was all Wooster from there as the Colts outscored the Wolverines 19-7 in the third quarter and 22-11 in the fourth to put the game away.

Senior James DePew led Truckee with 10 points and six rebounds. Colin Christian scored eight points and Brian Reed, Tony Rodriguez and Trent McMullen each scored seven. Clayton O’Connel pulled down six rebounds.



The Wolverines shot 32 percent from the field, connecting on only 18 of 56 field-goal attempts. They were 2 of 11 from behind the 3-point arc.
