Sky Nelson, head coach of the Truckee varsity boys basketball team, is seeking additional players to join his newly formed Truckee Blizzards club program.
Nelson said the club is designed to develop basketball fundamentals in a fun environment while providing young players the opportunity to play during the typical offseason.
“It (a club program) is what’s required to be competitive year in and year out,” Nelson said.
More than 20 players are on board so far, and Nelson hopes to form at least three teams based on age groups ranging from fifth or sixth grade through high school. The club’s first tournament is scheduled for March.
Those interested should contact Nelson at 808-276-4200 or coachsky1@gmail.com.
