Truckee duffers headed to Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Truckee High School will be among the more than 100 teams from across the nation participating in the eighth annual Palmetto High School Golf Championship March 24-26 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The 54-hole, college style event will be played on 11 of the Grand Strand’s premier courses. On the first day of the tournament, teams play a qualifying round that will be used to flight each squad. Teams then compete for the 36-hole championship within their flight.

In addition to the team competition, medals will be awarded to the top individual performers in each flight.

“We are looking forward to Truckee High School participating in the Palmetto High School Championship,” said Steve Mays, Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday’s tournament director. “The Palmetto High School Golf Championship is one of the nation’s premier high school team tournaments and we are delighted to host it here in Myrtle Beach, the Golf Capital of the World.”
