Truckee football and soccer gets on the air
Truckee Tahoe Community Television, Channel 6 will begin telecasting Truckee High School football and soccer games from Surprise Stadium beginning October 6. Soccer will be broadcast live with a later tape delay date and varsity football will be tape delay only. This programming introduces a new level of service from TTCTV and will continue into the winter with selected girls and boys basketball games played in the Truckee High School gym. USA Media has been very instrumental in making this coverage possible. They recently completed the wiring connection to Surprise Stadium to make it possible to route the video and audio directly to the TTCTV control room at Truckee High School. The first broadcast will be live coverage of Truckee women’s soccer vs. North Tahoe on Friday, October 6 at 4 p.m. There will be a tape rebroadcast on October 11 at 7 p.m. On October 7, Truckee’s varsity football game against Fernley will be taped for rebroadcast on October 10 at 7 p.m. Football games will not be carried live. Paul Rose and Jack Davis will do the play-by-play and color for the Wolverine football games and Larry Leatherman will provide commentary for the soccer games.
