Truckee golf: Wolverines seek 3A title after winning home tourney

Submitted to the SunSenior Ethan Harman and the Wolverines took the top spot at their home tournament at Old Greenwood this past Thursday. Truckee is now competing for its second straight 3A title at the state championship tournament in Spring Creek. The tournament ends Tuesday.

OLD GREENWOOD ” The Wolverines dominated their home tournament this past Thursday to end the regular season. Now they’re poised to bring home a second straight 3A state championship.

After winning their host tournament at Old Greenwood with a score of 396 ” beating out Lowry (428) and Yerington (447) ” Truckee made the trip out to Spring Creek to compete in the 3A state championship tournament on Monday and Tuesday.

Truckee senior Daniel Gelso was the tournament medalsit at Old Greenwood, posting a 73. Truckee’s Allan Nousiainen shot a 75 for the second-lowest score, while teammates Will Collin followed with an 80, Ethan Harman an 82, Bryce Poulin an 86 and Cian Sullivan an 89.
