Truckee High volleyball impresses at 40-team Reno tournament

RENO, Nev. — The Truckee volleyball team took ninth place in the 40-team High Sierra Invitational this past weekend. The finish was the Wolverines’ best showing at the High Sierra since 2012.
The Wolverines went 4-3 for the tournament, capturing wins over Hilmar (25-19, 27-25), Wooster (25-21, 25-22), Reed (31-29, 25-19) and Yerington (25-23, 22-25, 16-14).
Truckee’s losses came to Consumnes Oaks, Elk Grove and Douglas.
Truckee will kick off its conference season against Sparks at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Truckee High School.
