Truckee JV soccer | Girls upset by South Tahoe

The Truckee High JV girls’ soccer team lost 5-1 to the South Lake Vikings in Tahoe City on Saturday morning.

The Vikings played strong against Truckee, scoring their first two goals in the first half.

and#8220;The team started out a bit slow. Our ball possession was off in the first half,and#8221; said Wolverines coach Katie. and#8220;The girls played with more enthusiasm after the half, but the score didn’t reflect it.and#8221;

The Vikings’ tough defense kept Truckee to scoring their only goal in the 68th minute, when Karina Rivera scored off an assist by Ashley Harris.

Truckee’s defensive efforts were led by MVPs Heather Fissel and Sarah Williams. Wolverine goalies Cassandra Sawyer and Gina Bauerline made a valiant effort to hold off the Vikings offense.
