Truckee Little League All-Stars play in district tourney

Truckee Little League returns to play in the Nevada District 1 11-12 All-Star Tournament today with a 5:30 p.m. contest against Sparks Centennial at Governor’s Field in Carson City.

The 14-team tournament opened with six games in the round robin bracket play on Monday at Governor’s Field. The round robin games are played to determine seeding for the single-elimination championship bracket play, which begins Saturday.

Monday’s schedule included games between Truckee and Carson American as well as North Tahoe and Carson National.

Truckee plays again Wednesday at 8 p.m. against Reno National and North Tahoe plays Washoe in a 5:30 p.m. contest. North Tahoe faces Reno American West at 8 p.m. on Thursday and Truckee takes on Reno Continental at 8 p.m. on Friday.

The tournament championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m. next Monday, with the winner advancing to the Nevada State Tournament.
