The 9- and 10-year-old Truckee All-Star team opened the District 1 All-Star Tournament in Carson City this past week with three wins and only one loss.

In their first game on Thursday, the Truckee All-Stars came up short, 19-10, against Reno National.

Truckee then bounced back to rout South Lake Tahoe 12-0 before winning a 1-0 thriller in extra innings against Reno American.

The Truckee squad continued its winning ways with a 15-3 win against Carson City, which sets up a rematch against Reno National.

After five days of play, the Truckee 9-10 All-Star team is one of four teams left in the championship round.

The 10-11 Truckee All-Stars, meanwhile, are off to a successful 3-2 start in the District I Tournament.

The team defeated North Tahoe 12-2 on Monday night, receiving a solid pitching performance from Zarek Livak, who threw into the fifth inning. Drew Wingard drove in Colin Just to end the game on the 10-run rule.
