Truckee Little League clubs loses to Carson

In a rematch of a game from last year’s tournament in which Truckee won 3-2 in the last inning, Carson National evened up its record with Truckee by winning 11-9 in the second game of the 2006 10-11 Nevada District 1 Little League All-Star Tournament in Reno.

Truckee jumped out to a 5-1 lead after two innings, but Carson came back to tie the game in the third with four runs. Carson added two more in the fifth to make the score 7-5. Truckee came back with four runs in the fifth to take a 9-7 lead.

In the top of the sixth, Carson scored four runs on four hits to take a lead it never relinquished.

Andy McKechnie started on the hill for Truckee, surrendering four runs on one hit while striking out four. Reliever Marc Biederman pitched three innings, also striking out four and yielding seven hits.

Jake Pettit came in to finish the game, striking out two. The defense for Truckee had its share of holes, contributing to four errors.

Erik Holmer led the Truckee hitters with two hits, including a triple and a double, while Marc Biederman and-Clayton O’Connell each had one.

Truckee is now 1-1 with two games still to play in the round robin portion of the tournament.
