Truckee Little League season comes to close
The Truckee Little League regular season has come to an end with both division races coming down to the wire, and this year’s divisions proved to be very balanced.
In the Major Division, the Orioles, managed by Michael Cramer, won the title by two games over the A’s, who were skippered by Bob Bolton and Bob Nelson. The Reds, managed by Dave Theis, and the Rangers, led by Mark Zusy and Chris Matthew, tied for third. The Reds, however, won the third-place spot by virtue of their 2-1 record against the Rangers.
The Minor Division was equally competitive. The Randy Jones/Kit Ferre-led Cubs won the division with a record of 10-4. The Cardinals and Pirates were tied for second, both finishing one game back. The two teams each had a win against each other and the second place spot came down to run differential, which the Pirates lead by a mere two runs. The Pirates were managed by Brent Collinson and the Cards were led by Pat McKechnie and Mark Pado.
This year’s Truckee Little League program was led by the hard work of President Joe Ferrerra, Vice President Tad Herrington, Secretary Shanna Kuhlemier, Treasurer Marc Pado, Player Agent Greg Christian, Information Officer Pat Mckechnie, Chief Umpire Jim Smith, Division Coordinator Gayle Guiragossian, Safety Officer Katrina Walker, Division Coordinator Greg McWhinney, All-Star Coordinator Dave Theis, and Equipment Manager Scott Waring.
