Truckee soccer | Boys fall to Sparks in championship of Galena tourney

The Truckee boys’ soccer team went 3-2 and lost to Sparks in the championship game of the annual Howell Memorial Tournament at Galena this past weekend.

The Wolverines opened the tournament with a 2-0 loss to Reed. They followed with a 3-0 win against Elko, a 1-0 win against host Galena and a 2-0 victory against McQueen. They lost 2-0 to Sparks in the championship.

Fernando Rodriguez scored two goals against Elko and Jonathan Zarate scored the other, while Colten Rodrigue put in the lone goal against Galena and Nash McMullen and David Martinez, a freshman, each scored against McQueen.
