Truckee soccer: Boys, girls rout Dayton at home

Truckee’s girls are scheduled to host South Tahoe on Wednesday at 5 p.m., while the boys play at the Vikings.

The Truckee girls soccer team remains undefeated in the Division I-A after a 7-0 win over visiting Dayton on Friday.

Olivia Koster and Amber Simonpietri scored two goals apiece, while Corinne Doerner, Zareli Villa and Marley Simpson each scored one. Simpson and Ava Seelenfreund each had two assists, and Mia Winans had one assist.

The girls then defeated North Tahoe 5-2 in a nonleague road game Monday.

Seelenfreund scored the first two goals in the 10th and 33rd minutes, with Chase Rosellen assisting the second goal. Truckee carried a 2-1 lead into the half after Bryn Anderson put the Lakers on the board in the 39th minute.

Simonpietri, Noelle Seppi and Villa put the Wolverines up 5-1 with goals in the 41st, 62nd and 74th minutes. Anderson scored once more for the Lakers on a free kick in the 78th minute.

Truckee’s boys improved to 4-2 in league with a 5-1 win against Dayton on Friday. Sophomore Joel Garcia scored four goals for the Wolverines, and Manny Sarabia added one.

The Wolverines then played a sharp game in a 6-1 win at North Tahoe on Monday.

Five different players scored, with Alex Lopez, Jose Gonzalez, Sarabia, Teliz Manahan and Hunter Simpson each contributing a goal in the first half, and Sarabia scoring the lone second-half goal. Omar Cerda scored North Tahoe’s goal midway through the first half to cut the lead to 3-1.
