Truckee soccer | Boys, girls rout Dust Devils

The Truckee soccer teams had little trouble against visiting Dayton on Thursday, as the girls rolled to a 12-0 rout while the boys won 14-0.

Truckee’s girls scored nine first-half goals en route to the lopsided victory. Junior Marcelle Reynaud led the attack with three goals and an assist.

Emma Warren and Lizzie Larkins scored two goals apiece, and Kaylee Neill, Nichole Graham, Tessa Manahan, Daisy Rivera, and Shannon Cardoza chipped in one goal apiece. Senior goalie Cassandra Sawyer had to make only one save in the game.

The Wolverines are now 2-1 both overall and in Northern Division I-A play.

In similar fashion to the girls, the Truckee boys jumped on the Dust Devils early, scoring two goals in the first three minutes and nine in the first half. The Wolverines led 4-0 in the opening 10 minutes.

Freshman Manuel Sarabia notched a hat trick and then some, as he scored five goals and assisted another. Thomas Arnstein and Eddie Cortez contributed two goals each, while David Martinez had one goal and three assists, and Zack Barta, Will Krengel, Leo Villa and Alex Colomonares each scored one goal.

The Truckee boys improved to 2-0-1 in league and overall.

Both Truckee teams play nonleague games at Incline on Tuesday, girls at 5 p.m. and boys at 7 p.m. Truckee’s boys will host Sparks on Friday at 5 p.m. while the girls play at Sparks at the same time.
