Truckee soccer shuts down Dust Devils; Laker boys edged at Reno
The Truckee High boys soccer team improved to 8-1-1 on the season with a 6-0 win at Dayton on Saturday.
Truckee junior Robby Heck put the Wolverines on the board first with one of his two goals in the game, scoring unassisted in the fifth minute.
Seniors Jaysen Gomez and Salvador Tejeda also scored two goals each for the Wolverines, who led 5-0 at the half.
“Our possession was really good,” said Truckee head coach Hernan Valdivia. “We held the other team to pretty much zero shots inside 20 yards.”
The Wolverines are now 5-0-1 in the Northern 3A and 2-0-1 in the Tahoe League.
Truckee has the week off before hosting Whittell on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 5 p.m.
Truckee’s girls recorded the same score as the boys, shutting out Dayton 6-0 to improve to 9-1 overall.

The Wolverines are now 6-0 in the Northern 3A and remain 3-0 in the Tahoe League.
Truckee has the week off before hosting Whittell on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m.
The Laker boys lost a defensive battle 1-0 in a nonleague game at Reno on Saturday.
North Tahoe is 2-9-2 overall, 2-1-1 in the Northern 3A and 0-1-1 in the Tahoe League.
