Truckee soccer teams victorious at Dayton

The Truckee High girls soccer team defeated Dayton, 5-0, on the road Friday to improve to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in league play.

Truckee sophomore Katie Dill and senior Sara Grossman scored two goals apiece and senior Sam Deen had one.

The Truckee High boys soccer team routed Dayton, 9-0, at Dayton on Friday.

The Wolverines are now 11-1 on the season and 5-1 in the Northern 3A.

Truckee’s junior varsity girls soccer team beat the Lakers, 4-1, at North Tahoe last Wednesday.

The Lakers showed they were ready to play, taking an early 1-0 lead.

Truckee tied the score late in the first half. In the second half the Wolverines elevated their play, scoring three times to take control of the game.

Scoring for Truckee were Mikayla Reed, Robyn Bath-Rosenfeld, Katy Stephens and Caroline Nicholas. Annie Duner and Christina Silva had strong games on defense, as well as Shelby Macrorie in the midfield.

The Truckee and North Tahoe JV teams go at it again Oct. 11 in Truckee.
