Truckee soccer, volleyball: Wolverines victorious in league play

The Truckee boys and girls soccer teams both defeated Fernley on Wednesday, with the girls winning 6-0 on the road and the boys winning 2-0 at home.

The girls led 2-0 at the half before securing the victory with four second-half goals.

Sophie Warren scored two goals for the Truckee girls, while Chloe Murphy, Zareli Villa, Noelle Seppi and Olivia Vigano each scored one. Murphy, Olivia Koster, Ava Seelenfreund, Mia Winans and Nicole Harris each contributed an assist.

Truckee’s boys scored a goal in each half en route to the shutout win. Stats were not available.

The Truckee soccer teams have three games left before the postseason. The girls play at Dayton on Saturday, at South Tahoe next Tuesday and at home against Lowry next Thursday. The boys play at Dayton on Saturday, at home against South Tahoe next Tuesday and at Lowry next Thursday.

volleyball team dominates

The Truckee volleyball team improved to 13-0 in Northern Division I-A play with a win in straight sets, 25-11, 25-17, 25-11, at Fernley on Wednesday.

The Wolverines have three league contests remaining in the regular season, starting with Dayton this Friday at 6 p.m. Truckee plays at South Tahoe next Wednesday and closes league play with a home match against Lowry next Friday.
