Truckee softball | Dust Devils sweep league series

Visiting Dayton swept a three-game league series at Truckee on Thursday and Friday, winning 15-2, 12-4 and 12-3.

On Thursday, the Dust Devils jumped out to a big early lead with 11 runs in the first three innings.

Kalee Alexander led the Dust Devils, going 4-for-5 with two RBIs, while Serina Cazet was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and Shalia Powell was 3-for-5 with two RBIs.

Truckee stats were not available.

Fourth-place Dayton improved to 13-8 in league play and trails Fernley (19-2), Lowry (16-5) and Fallon (16-5) in the standings. The top four teams advance to the regional postseason.

Truckee, which is 1-14, will end the regular season with a home series against Fernley on Friday (3 p.m.) and Saturday (11 a.m., 1 p.m.).
