Four Truckee softball players received honorable mention recognition in Northern Division I-A All-League voting — seniors Sylvia Soto, Taylor Stevens and Tori Simpson, and junior Katie Fisher.

The awards are determined by the league’s head coaches.

Stevens — one of three co-captains along with Fisher and Simpson — posted a .392 batting average with 17 runs scored and 15 RBIs, with four home runs. She also finished with a team-high .931 fielding percentage.

Fisher hit .352 with 25 runs and 14 RBIs, and stole a team-high 27 bases. In addition to batting .370, Soto was Truckee’s No. 1 starting pitcher and finished with a 4-4 record in 17 appearances. Simpson had a .274 average with 17 runs, 10 RBIs and 12 stolen bases.

Fernley senior Serena Olson was voted league MVP, while her coach, Diane Chapin, was Coach of the Year. Fernley won the Northern Division I-A regional title before losing to Fallon in the state championships.

Although she didn’t make All-League, Truckee freshman Danielle Jackson posted a .542 average and .937 slugging percentage, with 21 runs, 16 RBIs, four home runs and 12 stolen bases.
