Truckee softball | Wolverines fall at South Tahoe
The Truckee softball team dropped a Mount Rose League contest at South Tahoe by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday.
With both teams locked in a 1-1 tie after three innings, the Vikings created space with a three-run fourth and two-run fifth to take a 6-1 lead. The Wolverines pushed across a run apiece in the sixth and seventh to cut the final deficit to three.
Truckee mustered all its offense on only one hit, as South Tahoe committed seven errors behind starter Hannah Neiger, who had 10 walks.
Sage Parkhurst had a double for Truckee’s one hit, while Jessie Jensen, Tori Simpson and Parkhurst each scored.
Krysta Murphy started in the circle for the Wolverines, allowing six hits and four runs (two earned) while striking out two and walking five in three and a third innings. Breanna Weber pitched the final two and two-thirds innings, giving up two runs on three hits and a walk.
Truckee is now 6-1 in Mount Rose League play and 9-10-1 overall. South Tahoe is 7-2 in league and 9-8 overall.
