Truckee softball: Wolverines hire new head coach

Sun Staff reports

Truckee High School hired Geary Jones as its new head varsity softball coach on Wednesday.

Jones will take over for Mitch Brown, who served as head coach the past five years and was an assistant for three seasons before that.

Brown said he resigned from his position to focus more on his business.

“It was a hard decision to make, but we decided that, if I wasn’t going to be able to give it 100 percent, I might as well step aside and let someone else take over,” Brown said Thursday.
