Truckee softball | Wolverines run win streak to eight at Quincy

The Wolverines overcame 13 errors to hang on for a 10-9 win against Quincy in a nonleague game at Feaver River College on Monday.

Stacy Brenes went 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBI to lead the Truckee offense. Jessie Jensen was 3 for 5 with an RBI, Krysta Murphy was 1 for 3 with a double and two RBI, Bailey LeClair was 2 for 4 with an RBI, Natalya Jones was 1 for 5 with a double and RBI, and Claire DePew was 1 for 2 with an RBI. Tracy Pearson added an RBI on one hit, Jorden Salas had an RBI, and Cheyenne Acevedo and Jackie Bolton, a recent JV call-up, each had one hit.

Jones made the defensive play of the game when she dove to snag a line drive at second base, receiving high fives and cheers from both teams for her effort.

Murphy started and pitched the first four innings, striking out three while allowing two hits and a walk. Breanna Weber finished the last three innings with two strikeouts, one hit and two walks.

UP NEXT: The Wolverines end their regular season with a league game at Incline on Tuesday, a nonleague game at Portola on Wednesday and another league game at South Tahoe on Friday. Truckee has already secured a playoff berth.
