Truckee swimming sinks Incline, Damonte Ranch

The Truckee High swim team had a dominating showing in at the Tri-Meet this past Monday at the Incline Recreation Center.

Truckee’s girls squad defeated Damonte Ranch by a score of 158-69 and defeated Incline 161-53. The boys topped Damonte Ranch by a count of 28-25 and beat Incline 40-28.

The girls 200-yard medley relay team of Michelle Hoehn, Julieta Rodriguez, Angela Raso and Nissa Krider placed first in a time of 2:18.50, while second-place Damonte Ranch posted a time of 2:25.00.



Emily Stewart and Krider finished first and second in the 200-yard freestyle with times of 2:34.24 and 2:38.36.

Truckee’s Sophie Aaron was first in the 50 freestyle in 28.34, followed by Hoehn (30.08) in second and Rebecca Alcaraz (32.61) fourth. Genna Benson finished in 33.40.



Raso took first in the 100 fly with a time of 1:16.03.

Scoring for Truckee in the 100 backstroke was Hoehn (1:18.21) in third, Aaron (1:19.71) fourth and Stephanie Johnson (1:31.56) fifth.

The Truckee boys duo of Arek O’Connell and Teague Mason came through as usual, finishing first and second in both the 50 and 100 free.

“We proved once again to be competitive and strong in a multitude of events,” said Wolverines head coach Vicky Dewey.

The Truckee High swim team hosts a meet against Hug in the Truckee Pool on Friday at 2:45 p.m.
