Truckee tennis | Boys sweep past Spanish Springs, 18-0

Submitted PhotoIsaiah Cutler and the Truckee boys' tennis team improved to 6-1 on the year with an 18-0 sweep against Spanish Springs on Tuesday.

The Truckee boys’ tennis team traveled to face last year’s rival, Spanish Springs, on Tuesday with one goal in mind and#8212; earn victory.

To coach Rick Deeter’s pleasant surprise, the Wolverines did just that in dominant fashion, shutting out the Cougars 18-0.

and#8220;That wasn’t what we expected,and#8221; Deeter said. and#8220;We came ready to play, individually and as a team, and it showed.and#8221;

Truckee improved to 6-1 on the year with the big win, with two more league matches remaining in the regular season.

Each of Truckee’s top three singles seeds, Zac Sallinger, Isaiah Cutler and Jake Kamenetsky, as well as doubles teams Grayson Forsberg/Aaron Pado and Brandon Deeter/Jackson Rohlf, swept all three of their sets.

Zach Conradson/Alex Kopytko took their first two doubles sets and then let Tyler Paladino and Travis Ferre finish off an unbelievable sweep of their old rivals, 18-0.
