Truckee volleyball season ends; Lashbrook, Raber named to all-league

Staff reports

The Truckee High volleyball team suffered a season-ending loss in five games to Spring Creek in the opening match of the Northern 3A Regional tournament on Saturday.

“It was a huge disappointment,” said Truckee head coach Nicole Annaloro, adding that the match was closely contested throughout. “It was just an unfortunate

outcome to a really good season. But it gives us stuff to work on once again in the offseason for next year.”

Truckee finished the regular season in third place in the Northern 3A ” behind Lowry (15-1) and Yerington (15-1) ” with an 11-5 league record. Including the playoff loss over the weekend, the Wolverines’ overall record stands at 18-11.

With a 14-player roster consisting of only two seniors, Jordan Raber and Shannon Holt, and a number of promising young athletes, Annaloro is anticipating a bright future.

Truckee junior Melanie Lashbrook made first team all-league as a middle blocker, and senior Jordan Raber was named to the second team at libero (defensive specialist).

Alexa Terrell, a junior middle blocker, and sophomore outside hitter Callan Finney made all-league honorable mention.
