Truckee volleyball: Wolverines improve to 14-0 in league

The Truckee volleyball team ran its league record to 14-0 with wins in straight sets at Fernley last Wednesday and at home against Dayton on Friday.

The Wolverines defeated the Vaqueros 25-11, 25-17, 25-11 and the Dust Devils 25-23, 25-21, 25-19.

Against Fernley, Maia Dvoracek tallied 10 kills and 18 assists, Anais Fay had nine kills, nine digs and two blocks, and Maddie Bromley had six service aces. Maddie Haley and Tatum Kula each came up with two blocks, Jordan Brown had six assists, and Sierra Halberstadt had six digs.

Dvoracek finished with 16 kills and 34 assists against Dayton, while Fay had 13 kills, 17 digs and 28 service returns. Fisher added nine kills and 21 digs, Kula had three blocks, Stephanie Randall had 10 assists, and Bromley was a perfect 20-for-20 on serves with two aces.

Truckee, which will end the regular season with a senior farewell match against Lowry on Thursday at 6 p.m., is set to host the Northern Division I-A regional championships on Nov. 7. The top six teams in the league qualify for the tournament.

The top two teams from regionals advance to state, which will be held in Henderson on Nov. 13-14.
