Truckee volleyball | Wolverines improve to 2-0 in league

The Truckee volleyball team cruised past Sparks on the road Friday, sweeping the match 25-11, 25-18, 25-13 to improve to 2-0 in league play.

Senior Kari Murphy was named Player of the Match for the Wolverines after recording five kills.

Truckee sophomore Maia Dvoracek tallied a team-high 15 kills, 11 assists and four digs, Shelby Gendreau had 18 assists and four service aces, Anais Fay had three digs and three aces, Sierra Halberstadt four kills and two aces, Katherine Englert three aces and three kills, and Tori Simpson four digs and two aces.

The Wolverines, a young team that began the year with a tough slate of matches against large schools, improved to 5-6 overall. Sparks fell to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in league.

Truckee is scheduled to host Fallon on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and Lowry on Friday at 6 p.m.
