Truckee volleyball | Wolverines improve to 7-0 vs. Division I-A

The Truckee volleyball team swept past Sparks and Lowry in straight sets on the road this past Friday and Saturday, defeating Sparks 25-13, 25-15, 25-22 and Lowry 25-21, 25-16, 25-19.

Against Lowry, a well-rested Mackenzie Redner was a dominant offensive force with 20 kills. The Wolverines had 36 kills in the match, as Lauren Peak posted six, Gabby Moretti had four and Nichole Riofrio had three.

Redner and Moretti each tallied 11 service points, with Moretti posting five aces and Redner four. Kestlie Stefanelli had eight service points and two aces. Moretti finished with 32 assists and eight digs, Stefanelli had 20 digs, Mel Jones had 11 digs, and Mohun had nine digs.

Peak was named Player of the Match against Sparks, as the junior outside hitter tallied 16 service points, four aces and 15 digs.

Redner finished with 17 kills, while Moretti had eight kills, 20 assists, 14 digs and eight service points, and Mohun had four kills, 14 assists and 16 digs. Riofrio contributed 13 service points and three aces, and Stefanelli had 10 digs.

The Wolverines are now 12-9 overall and 2-0 in Mount Rose League play. They are 7-0 against fellow Division 1-A opponents.

UP NEXT: Truckee plays at North Tahoe on Friday at and at Incline on Tuesday. The Wolverines return home to face Incline again on Friday, Oct. 12. All matches start at 6 p.m.
