Truckee volleyball | Wolverines overpower Division I Douglas

Jim Grant / Nevada AppealTruckee libero Kestlie Stefanelli had a team-high 23 digs in the Wolverines' win in four games at Douglas on Monday.

The champs are beginning to heat up.

Truckee took down Division I Douglas in four sets, 25-16, 17-25, 25-17, 25-21, on the road Monday, giving the Wolverines two straight wins coming off a tough High Sierra Invitational the previous week.

Junior outside hitter Mackenzie Redner and senior setter Gabby Moretti led the Wolverines offensively, as Redner finished with a match-high 24 kills and Moretti a match-high 40 assists.

Mel Jones and Lauren Peak each contributed four kills, Nichole Riofrio had three kills and Chelsea Mohun two.

Kestlie Stefanelli posted 23 digs in the match and Redner 21, while Peak and Mohun each had 11 digs. Stefanelli had 12 service points and Moretti 11 points and two aces.

For Douglas, Jessa Gansberg led the way, collecting six kills and five blocks.

The Wolverines are now 4-6 overall.

UP NEXT: Truckee hosts Fallon on Wednesday at 6 p.m. and plays at Elko and Spring Creek on Friday and Saturday.
