Truckee’s Tim Jitloff runner-up in NorAm super combined

WHISTLER, B.C. and#8212; Tim Jitloff of Truckee finished runner-up in a NorAm Cup super G race at Whistler, B.C., on Sunday.

The Truckee skier has been on a tear of late. In two NorAm giant slalom races held last week, Jitloff won Tuesdayand#8217;s event and finished second the following day.

On Sunday the men competed in two races as the super G portion of the super combined counted as a race in itself.

The super combined race went to the U.S. Ski Teamand#8217;s Tommy Ford, who finished with a combined time of 1:38.69 to Jitloffand#8217;s 1:38.78. Canadian Philip Brown rounded out the podium in third place (1:39.18).

U.S. Ski Team athlete Ryan Cochran-Siegle won the super G race with a time of 1:03.61, grabbing his second consecutive NorAm super G gold. Teammate Tommy Biesemeyer finished in second (1:03.78) and Jan Judec of Canada was third, just three one-hundredths of a second behind Biesemeyer.

Both Cochran-Siegle and Biesemeyer took the two top spots in the overall super G rankings with 525 and 417 points, respectively.

Biesemeyer finished first (134) and Ryan Cochran-Siegle second (130) in the menand#8217;s overall super combined rankings.

In Sundayand#8217;s womenand#8217;s super G, the U.S. Ski Teamand#8217;s Julia Ford won the race with a time of 1:06.17. Canadian Julia Roth grabbed the second place spot (1:06.64) and American Brooke Wales finished in third with a time of 1:06.68.

Two Americans took the top spots in the overall ladiesand#8217; super G rankings, with Ford first (400) and Wales second (368).
