After it appeared there would be no womens softball league on the North Shore for the first time in over two decades, the Truckee Donner Recreation & Park District has hashed out a plan to create a three or four-team league. The league is looking for girls or women ages 16 or older, and the games will be held on Wednesday evenings starting June 23. Games will alternate between Truckee and Tahoe City. Free agents will be placed on one of the three existing teams or will help form the fourth team. There will be a drop-in night on Wednesday, June 16, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Truckee Regional Park for players to practice and meet the new players. For more information, call Dan OGorman or Tyson Draeger at 582-7720.
