Volleyballers fall to Dayton
The Truckee High School varsity volleyball team fell to first place Dayton High School in three games on Friday.
The Wolverines lost the first game 25-12.
“The first game they missed serves, but they were getting the feel of it,” said head coach Maggie Shane.
In the second game Truckee made a comeback after being down 22-16 to lose 25-22.
“The second game they played really well,” Shane said.
In the third game Truckee fell 25-8.
“The third game they just couldn’t get it going,” Shane said. “They weren’t doing anything, they weren’t communicating. There was no team work,” she added.
“Were going to work on tightening up our offense and work on blocking,” Shane said as the team prepares for tonight’s game against Sparks High School.
The junior varsity volleyball team lost the first match 25-21, won the second match 25-15 and fell in the third 15-11.
“The J.V. played good,” Shane said.
The freshman team lost 25-15 and 25-22.
“The freshman missed serves but they played as a team. They played pass, set, hit volleyball,” Shane said.
