World Cup Alpine skiing | Jitloff 8th in World Cup super combined event

Ted Ligety led the American men with a fourth-place finish while Tim Jitloff of Truckee placed eighth in a World Cup super combined race at Bansko, Bulgaria, on Saturday.

Italian Christof Innerhofer eked out the win by .01-second margin over Felix Neureuther.

For Jitloff, the quality finish marked his second World Cup combined result. It was his second top-10 finish and his best result in two years.

and#8220;Jitloff did a hell of a job in the first run and#8212; skied clean and moved with the terrain well,and#8221; said U.S. coach Sasha Rearick. and#8220;It was a rough course. It held up but was rough with changing snow conditions.and#8221;

Ligety said he was pleased with his super G leg, but he felt he could have done more with the slalom course, set by U.S. coach Mike Kenney.

and#8220;I didnand#8217;t feel like I had the greatest slalom in the world, but my super G run was pretty good. It was a pretty GS-friendly super G hill, so that worked out well for me,and#8221; he said.
