Youth wrestlers convene at TTHS gym
More than 115 wrestlers ages four to 14 gathered at the Tahoe-Truckee High School gymnasium last Saturday for the annual Truckee Mountain Youth Wrestling Tournament.
The event, now in its 14th year, took place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with 23 Truckee wrestlers participating in the meet.
Truckee coach Ben Moule said all of his wrestlers finished in fourth place or better.
“We had a great tournament,” Moule said. “I’m really proud of how the kids did.”
Truckee wrestlers who showed exceptionally well included Ian Wrenn, with a gold medal; Nathan Wrenn with a bronze; Josh Johnson with a first place in his weight division; Marcus Waters with a silver and Robbie Waters with a silver.
Paris Tenorio picked up a silver medal just a week after taking the gold at another tournament.
Tenorio has only lost one match all season.
