TAHOE CITY, Calif. – Boarding for Breast Cancer’s (B4BC) 22nd Annual Skate the Lake presented by LivOn Labs is rolling through North Lake Tahoe during the weekend of August 1-2. The beloved event will bring community members together to skate-bike-roll 28 (or 8) miles alongside the beautiful scenery of Lake Tahoe. This year’s event has a fundraising goal of $75,000, all to support B4BC’s education, prevention and survivorship programs. The nonprofit will also be celebrating its 30th anniversary during the event weekend.

Skate the Lake weekend kicks off on Saturday, August 1 with a Community Celebration at Common’s Beach. Participants and community members are invited to drop by, register, grab event goodie bags, connect with fellow skaters and enjoy the day’s events. B4BC has exciting plans in store for attendees, including breast health education, live performances from local talents, food and beverages, booth activations from event sponsors, including vitamin samplings from presenting sponsor LivOn Labs, and silent auctions and raffles for chances to win incredible partner prizes.

The 28-mile push for prevention will take place on Sunday, August 2, starting at Sugar Pine Point Park and finishing back at Common’s Beach, the same location as the Community Celebration the day prior. There will be three hydration stations along the course for riders to recharge and lunch at The Auld Dubliner in Palisades Village, which will also serve as the 8 mile drop-in point for participants who don’t want to do the full trek.

This event marks the beginning of B4BC’s 2026 Summer Skate Series, which is one of the nonprofit’s initiatives to spread its mission of a healthy, active lifestyle + early detection as the best means of breast cancer prevention. In addition to Skate the Lake, B4BC will be hosting Skate the River in partnership with Rockstar Energy Open in Portland, OR on August 16 and Skate the Coast in Los Angeles, CA on October 23-24. 2026 also marks the nonprofit’s 30th anniversary of advocating for early detection, providing community for survivors and using its roots in action sports to grow its reach.
