I-80 over Donner Summit closed

Interstate 80 is closed in both directions over Donner Summit Monday morning because of hazardous weather and multiple crashes, the California Highway Patrol said.
In a traffic alert posted to its Truckee Instagram account at 11:38 a.m., CHP officials warned of spin-outs and accidents along the highway.
“No estimated time of opening at this time as Caltrans and CHP are working to clear the roadway,” the alert said. “Please avoid the area and seek alternate routes.”
Motorists traveling in the region are advised to check for updates and plan alternative routes until conditions improve.
