Second Fridays continue with Retro 80s Ski Day on March 13
TAHOE CITY, Calif. — Break out the neon, tease up your hair, and dust off your vintage ski gear as 2nd Fridays return on March 13 with Retro 80s Ski Day in Tahoe City, the West Shore, and Alpine Meadows.
This high-energy community celebration will spotlight all things 80s, with a special emphasis on vintage ski style. From retro-inspired specials and happy hours to creative art experiences and wine tastings, businesses throughout the region are joining the fun with festive entertainment, activities, and themed events.
“Second Fridays are about bringing the community together and celebrating our small mountain town energy in a fun, creative way,” said Katherine Hill, executive director of the Tahoe City Downtown Association.
March offers even more opportunities for visitors and locals to explore local events:
- Daily until March 8: Ice skating, sledding and skiing at the Tahoe City Winter Sports Park
- Saturdays & Sundays: Park N Ride to Palisades Tahoe or take the shuttle to Tahoe City to shop, dine and play.
- Every Saturday: Snowshoe Tours at Sugar Pine State Park
- Every Friday until April 10: Ski with a Scientist at Palisades Tahoe
- Every Thursday: Bingo Night at West Shore Market and Trivia Night at Tahoe National Brewing
- March 6: Alpenglow Winter Speaker Series with Dave Nettle at Olympic Village Event Center
- March 11: Winemaker’s Dinner at Granlibakken
- March 15: Winter Stoke Ski & Snowboard Festival at Tahoe Art Haus & Cinema
- March 17: St. Patrick’s Poetry Night at Tahoe Wine Collective
- March 28: Spring Eggstavaganza at Tahoe City Golf Course or enjoy the Home Again Celebration with Jenni & Jesse at Homewood Mountain Resort
Second Fridays continue on April 10 and 11 with a two-day, family-friendly Spring Thaw Scavenge event.
