TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Truckee Chamber of Commerce announced that planning is underway for the Annual Truckee 4th of July Parade, returning this year as part of a full day of community celebrations. This year’s parade will hold special significance as the nation celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.

Although the anniversary is a country-wide event, Truckee’s celebration will remain focused on what makes the town so special: neighbors coming together, local organizations showing their pride, and families lining the streets to celebrate community traditions.

Kicking off at 9:50 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, the parade begins at the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District Administrative Office and travels approximately 1.5 miles along Donner Pass Road into historic Downtown Truckee. Each year, the parade features creative floats, music, youth groups, classic cars, and local organizations that reflect the spirit, creativity, and community pride that define Truckee.

“This year’s parade is an opportunity for our community to celebrate not only our nation’s 250th anniversary, but also the traditions and connections that make Truckee such a special place,” said Jessica Penman, President & CEO of the Truckee Chamber of Commerce. “The Fourth of July Parade has always been about bringing our community together, and we look forward to seeing our streets filled with creativity, pride, and hometown spirit.”

What’s more fun than watching the parade? Being in it.

The Truckee Chamber invites businesses, nonprofits, youth groups, clubs, and community members to participate in this year’s parade with floats, marching groups, classic vehicles, or other creative entries that celebrate community, creativity, and the spirit of Independence Day.

Trophies and bragging rights will be awarded for Best of Show, along with winners in several categories including Commercial, Youth Group, Classic Auto, Open, and Nonprofit.

Sponsorship Opportunities

The Truckee Chamber could not produce this cherished community tradition without the support of local sponsors. Sponsoring the parade helps ensure the continuation of one of Truckee’s most beloved events while providing businesses with visibility in front of more than 14,000 spectators. Sponsorship opportunities are available and businesses do not need to be Chamber members to participate.

For sponsorship information, contact Trisha Stickney, Membership & Programs Manager, at trisha@truckee.com.

A Full Morning of Celebration

Truckee’s Fourth of July festivities begin well before the parade, offering several ways for the community to come together and celebrate.

Fuel Up at the Pancake Breakfast
Start the day with a community favorite hosted by the Truckee Fire Protection District at Station 92 (11473 Donner Pass Road) from 7:00–10:00 a.m. Enjoy hot pancakes served with butter and maple syrup while supporting our local firefighters. The breakfast is free, with donations appreciated.

Get Moving with the Firecracker Mile
Lace up your running shoes for the Firecracker Mile Fun Run, hosted by Auburn Ski Club Training Center. This one-mile, “gravity-fed” race begins at 9:40 a.m. at U.S. Bank and finishes downtown near the parade judges’ stage. Participants of all ages are encouraged to join in, whether you are sprinting, jogging, or strolling. Costumes are always welcome, and cheers from the crowd are guaranteed.

VIP Parade Seating: The Best Seats in the House
For those who want a VIP view without the early wake-up call, the Truckee Chamber will once again offer VIP Parade Seating in front of the Truckee Welcome Center, next to the judges’ stage. Beginning at 9:00 a.m., guests can enjoy shaded seating, coffee, and light treats while watching the parade. Seating is limited and you can sign up now at Truckee.com.

The parade is produced by the Truckee Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Town of Truckee, with logistical support provided by Big Blue Adventure, LLC.
