TRUCKEE, Calif. – Truckee High School Theater presents its 2025 fall production, Little Women, an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s beloved novel written for the stage by Heather Chrisler. Directed by Meara Mooney, this heartfelt retelling brings the timeless story of the March sisters to life with warmth, humor and heart.

Set against the backdrop of a single attic, Little Woman follows sisters Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy as they navigate the joys and sorrows of growing up. The story captures the beauty of family, the ache of loss, and the power of love and creativity that binds them together through every season of life.

The talented cast features Josephine Wurzelbacher as the fiercely independent Jo March, Daisy Kuzma as the nurturing Meg March, Lucy Greenwood as the gentle Beth March, and Dani Mason as the spirited Amy March. They are joined by Jack Ridgel as Laurie, August Stepper as John Brooke, and Thomas Greenwood as Professor Bhaer.

“This is a newer adaptation of a classic,” said Director Meara Mooney. “It’s a paired down version that allows us to focus on the relationships between the sisters. It’s fast paced; it’s fun; it’s heartwarming. This is a great group of students who have a lot of experience on the stage, and they each give a beautiful performance.”

Performances will take place in the Truckee High School Auditorium on Friday and Saturday, November 14, 15, 21, and 22. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Concessions will also be available for purchase outside the theater. Audiences can look forward to an evening of laughter, tenderness, and timeless storytelling that reminds us what it means to grow, to love, and to hold family close.
